Free Enneagram Type Test
48 questions, your full nine-type profile and wing — with an honest clarity score instead of fake certainty. Free, no signup to take it.
Take the free testFind your type in about fifteen minutes — and know how much to trust the result. The test measures the motivations under your behavior across all nine types, locates your wing, and reports its confidence honestly: a clarity band, the runner-up when the margin is thin, and a straight ‘inconclusive’ when your answers genuinely don’t discriminate.
What it measures
Not behaviors — motivations. Many types share behaviors (three different engines produce over-preparation), so the items target the fear and desire underneath: what your attention scans for, what a bad day threatens, what would finally let you rest. 48 items mixing statements and forced-choice pairs, designed to resist self-flattery, with reverse-keyed items that catch autopilot answering.
How the honest clarity model works
Most tests always return a confident single type — hiding the fact that even the best instruments mistype one person in four or five. Ours reports what the data actually supports: high clarity (strong, consistent signal), moderate (real signal, read the runner-up too), or inconclusive (your answers didn’t separate the candidates — retest calmer, or read the top profiles directly). We’d rather send you to two profiles honestly than one profile wrongly.
What you get
Your full nine-type profile (every type scored, not just the winner), your likely wing — or balanced wings, honestly reported — and a direct path into the reading that confirms it: your type’s complete profile, the mistype comparison if two candidates compete, and your type’s growth practices. Results stay in your browser until you choose to save them with a free account.
Free, and what Pro adds
The test, your result and your type’s full profile are free, permanently. A free account saves results across devices. Pro adds the deeper instruments: the Compatibility Report, Type Someone You Love, the Instinct & Subtype test, and the Growth Path Explorer.
A sample result, decoded
Say the test returns: Type Six, moderate clarity, Type One close behind, wing 5. Decoded: your answers consistently favored vigilance-and-loyalty motivations (real signal), but a meaningful minority pulled toward principled-correction motives — enough that One deserves a read, not enough to overturn the headline. The wing figure says Five’s reserve outscored Seven’s appetite between your neighbors. The report links your reading order: Six’s profile, One’s profile, and the 6-vs-1 comparison if both keep landing. That’s a result you can actually use — which is the entire design goal.
Who it’s for
First-timers who want a serious starting point without wading through nine profiles blind. Returners whose earlier results (here or elsewhere) never quite fit — the motivation-targeting and honest uncertainty catch cases that behavior checklists miss. And skeptics: the clarity model was built for you — no forced verdicts, no barnum flattery, and an explicit invitation to discard the result if the reading doesn’t produce recognition. The framework earns nothing on authority — recognition or nothing is the deal.

How long does the test take?
About fifteen minutes for 48 items. Answer first-instinct from your whole life (not just this month), before reading type descriptions — those two conditions measurably improve accuracy.
Do I need an account to take it?
No — the test runs and shows your result without signup. A free account only becomes useful when you want results saved across devices or to unlock Pro tools later.
What if my result says 'inconclusive'?
It means your answers didn't cleanly separate the top candidates — commonly from a stressful season or aspirational answering. It's honest information: the result page names your top candidates so you can read both profiles directly.
Is this the official RHETI test?
No — it's our own original item bank, built on the classical literature's constructs (never copying any published instrument) and designed around motivation rather than behavior, with honest uncertainty reporting.
Can I retake it?
Yes, free, any time. Best practice: retake in a different season rather than the same week — same-week retakes mostly measure your memory of the first pass.
